On the 12th September 2010 at 1800 UTC I successfully called the International Space Station – NA1SS. I wasn’t fortunate enough to record this incredible amateur radio contact, however I am very grateful to Callum Graham 2M0YCG who did manage to record the pass, and subsequently emailed me a copy of the recording!!

Below is a clip of the recording of Col Doug Wheelock talking to me from on board the International Space Station on the 12th September 2010.

At the start of the clip you hear him refer to “Golf Seven Victor November November” (G7VNN) that’s my callsign.

Unfortunately you can’t hear me.

The equipment I used consisted of a Yaseu FT7800 with 50 watts out into a dual band car antenna mag mounted on the shed roof!!
